Grown in China, Star Anise is widely used in Chinese, Indian and other South Asian cuisine.
Star Anise is used in preperation of a number of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In New World, it's the industrial source of extracting Shikimic acid, the major component to produce anti-flu drug Tamiflu.
In Indian cuisine, it's used along with Cloves, Cinnamon etc. as an ingredient of making the Garam Masala.
Tip: Always store in an air tight container and keep in in dark place to retain the aroma
